Key Ideas of the Long-Range Plan for Technology

Throughout reading these key ideas I found a common idea. We as a society need to ensure that our student's are prepared for the new era of society. The 21st century worker/citizen is advanced in their use of technology and it starts now. As an administrator, teacher, state committe, and parent we need to better prepare our students for this everchanging environment. We need to increase our knowledge and skills for technology in order to integrate these techniques into our instructional plans.

The state has set clear guidelines that should be followed in order to ensure these levels of skills are taught. The advancement of connectivity between the global world and even state wide will allow us to differentiate our instruction to be able to customize it for each child and their personal learning styles.s

As an instructional leader, I think that I need to supply the professional development to empower my teachers to incorporate these skills into their instructional strategies, and then to employ continuous follow-ups and on-going opportunities to enhance these methods of instruction.

  1. Despite the fact that I am not quite qualified to be a "21st century worker/citizen" (yet!), I fully agree with your evaluation of why this Long-Range Plan is essential. I appreciate the theme that runs through your writing that administrators empower teachers, who in turn empower students, who in turn empower society. Well said!
